ESOB Portland Conference

There have been some rumblings of late about a second ESOB Conference* -- this time to be held in Portland.

The wife and I will be moving to a new home across town in mid/late April and will have space to host a few of you fellow ESOB members by the end of April/beginning of May.

How does an early summer date sound?

*ESOB, for those who don't know, is the acronym for the self-created Ecumenical Synod of Orthodox Bloggers. We are kind of like The Inklings without the English accents, tweed jackets or intellectual acumen. As Huw notes, the connections we make are very intriguing.

P.S. I'm sure even non-ESOBers (hmm, that doesn't sound good!) would be interested in getting together to kick back, talk theology, drink wine, and meet the bloggers behind the blogs....let me know.

Update: There is support growing for the idea that ecumenical dialogue should always be done with a drink in one's hand. "[These] congresses would be discreet, spiritual affairs, where we all held our pinkies out as we quaffed our beers..."

Update 2: Huw has decided, contra Psalm 133:1, that the ESOB isn't good enough. This is shaping up to be almost as big as the "hair-etic" issue!
