Communion and Otherness

As Alastair notes, those who have not yet read Met. John Zizioulas' magnus opus, "Being as Communion", will find this short but profound article a helpful introduction.

The whole piece is a money quote but here is a nice gem that sums it up: "one person is no person." (Or to twist a Sartrian phrase: "*Heaven* is other people.")
